St. Henry II, Holy Roman Emperor, is a feast day for Benedictine oblates (July 13). He didn’t want to be emperor; he wanted to be a monk & became an oblate. When he received the habit, his abbot gave him the “obedience” – his monastic work – to go be emperor.

This week we’re offering enrollment in the Order of Mt Carmel and the Blessing of Brown Scapulars, immediately after Mass for those wishing to be enrolled. Adults bring a scapular; children sized we have plenty to give out (but the child must be old enough and willing to participate daily in the Rosary- one requirement). The Feast of Our Lady of Mt Carmel is Tuesday, 16 July.
